Vaulting Paris Masters- RESULTS: 1st and 3rd for GBR

European Champion Joanne Eccles has retained her title and continued her 2009 unbeaten record internationally by winning the Paris Masters CVI 2009.

Close behind and also producing a top performance was Lucy Phillips finishing 3rd on her début at the Paris Event.

Joanne (from Tillicoultry, Scotland) competed on her European title horse ‘WH Bentley’ lunged by her father John Eccles

Lucy Phillips (from Solihull) competed on her own Pitucelli lunged by Elka schelp-Lensing.

This rounds off a fantastic year for Joanne and Lucy, who have really made a name for themselves on the international circuit. Work now begins towards Kentucky, WEG 2010 next October which both girls have already been selected for by BEV Ltd.

Joanne Eccles new European champion gets Gold at the European Championships in Malmo, Sweden

Lunged by her father and coach, John Eccles, the very graceful and athletic Joey Eccles shone as she took the first prize as the senior female champion of Europe on her horse WH Bentley. This follows a wonderful season of first placings for Joey both in Europe and the USA.

Lucy Philips has made huge strides this season to finish in 8th place in the senior competition on her new horse Pitucelli won best horse in the championships, gaining the highest score across all rounds with a final average of 7.475. Team GBR also achieved 2 top 15 places in the Junior female class with Hannah Eccles finishing in 7th place and Louise Sinclair in 13th. Stephanie Hunter finished 18th in the junior class and Hattie Nicol 31st in the senior.

The Senior team came 8th and the Junior team a well deserved 5th against some very high quality competition.

These vaulters will now roll straight into preparations for the British selection trials for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010.

Joanne Eccles wins the American National Championships at Kentucky Horsepark on a borrowed horse. Hannah Eccles finished 11th.

Joanne and Hannah Eccles flew to America to take part in the American National Championships 10-12th July at Kentucky Horsepark. They borrowed an American horse who they sat on for the first time the day before the competition started. Joanne won both rounds and therefore finished first over all. Pushing the new American Champion Alicen Divita into second place.

The competition gave the girls vital insight into the venue for next years WEG 2010. They now return home with a week before setting off for Sweden for the European Vaulting Championships. Joanne is still unbeaten internationally this year.

Dutch International Ermelo CVI*/** – Eccles sisters do the double! And strong results from all british Vaulters

Sisters Joanne and Hannah Eccles have won their respected classes second year running.

Joanne Wins the CVI ** on 8.138 competing on her own WH Bentley, lunged by her father John Eccles.

Hannah won the CVI* on 7.405 again competing on WH Bentley, lunged also by her father John Eccles

Close behind Hannah in the CVI * was Louise Sinclair finishing 2nd on 6.915, competing on ILPH Islay (with Kinross Vaulting Group as of June 15th 2009) lunged by Liz Mackay, Louise having a great start to the year having recently finishing 4th at the French international in Saumur. Stephanie Hunter from the Eagles group in Scotland, finished 7th on a good score 6.718 in her first international competition.

In the CVI ** Lucy Phillips finish 5th on a great score of 7.654, competing on her new horse Pitucelli lunged by Elke Schlep Lensing. Harriet Nicol finished in 19th on good score of 6.344. Hannah Nicol finished in 21st after 1st round.
