Proposed Criteria for Judges
1. APPOINTMENT
All judges judging affiliated classes must be on the Official BEV Judges panel. They are appointed by the organisers of the competition or by British Equestrian Vaulting Ltd.
2. FOREIGN
JUDGES
Foreign Judges may not officiate at Affiliated Vaulting Competitions unless they are on the FEI list as Official, International or International candidate Judge.
Other National judges may officiate with permission from BEV Ltd.
3. POSITIONING
OF JUDGES
The jury may consist of 1- 5 judges, positioned at equi-distant points round the outside of the Vaulting circle, minimum 2 metres distance from the circle.
4. JUDGE
A
Judge A takes the salute and is responsible for the jury. He/she is normally the senior British National judge. The timekeeper sits with Judge A
5. PRACTICE JUDGING
Anyone interested in practice judging should ask the permission of the Organiser who will clear it with Judge A.
6. JUDGING RESTRICTIONS
The following restrictions for affiliated competitions must be observed.
· The judge may not be the owner of or have a financial interest in any horse in any class he/she judges.
· The judge may not be in a relationship with, or a close relative of, a vaulter, lunger or (owner ?)
· The judge should do their best to avoid judging any combination with whose training he/she has been involved on a regular basis unless exceptional circumstances demand it (for example at very short notice), and in this instance a possible conflict of interest must be recorded with the Organiser.
NB.Such an appointment should not be allowed at a Championship
or Selection Event.
· No judge should judge a musical freestyle if they have participated in the making of the tape used by the competitors in this class.
· Judges, writers or other persons within earshot of the judge may not write up a commentary for publication of the class concerned.
