Starting a new Group or Club

· Make the decision to start –up

· Organise a Committee

· Encourage help from parents

· Set up a constitution – samples available

· Put in place a cash flow or treasurers account where two signatures are required – choose bank

· Name Club and join to BEV - see web-site under membership

· Approach Local Council for start –up grants for equipment

· Consider which horse to train or have trained.

· Set day for session, place and time

· Decide children’s contribution, Suggest monthly fees

· Set joining fee for Club

· Coaches and lungers must join BEV

· All children should now join BEV in one category.

· Have consent form

· Arrange disclosure checks for all parents and coaches working with the group

· Organise qualified help

· Send coaches on training courses.

· Choose colours and leotards

· Consider 'Awards for All' grant for equipment
