Seat with Egyptian pot arms

 

Method

  • Sit as for basic seat 2  but with arms bent with palms of hands upwards.
  • Hands should be level with shoulders.

 

Tips

  • Ensure arms remain still and do not bounce.
  • Arms should be in line with shoulders, hips and feet.

Method

  • From grips extend arms fully as you lift them sideways until they are straight and in line with shoulders and hips.
  • Hands should be at eye level.
  • Arms should remain still.

 

Correct basic seat arms, fingers level with eyes

 

 

Tips

  • Upper body should remain still and poised allowing the movement of the horse to be absorbed through the hips and legs.
  • Outside arm  should not be visible behind the vaulter.

 

Incorrect basic seat - arms, fingers are below eye level.
