Results and Photographes from the World Championships, which took place on 16th -19th August at  Le Mans in France...........



Joanne Eccles takes the Gold Medal at the World Championships 2012 vaulting on WH.Bentley lunged by John Eccles.

Joanne Eccles retained her World Vaulting champion title in Le Mans, France .

This takes Joanne's winning streak to 4 consecutive championships, now being double European and double World champion!

This was WH Bentleys 50th international competition!

Senior Female class:
Joanne lead throughout the 4 rounds, showing her consistency and finally won by a comfortable margin rarely seen at championships (nearly .5). 2nd was Rikki Laumann from Denmark, 3rd was Sarah Kay from Germany. Joanne was vaulting on WH Bentley and lunged by father John Eccles


Hannah Eccles also impressed to finish in 8th, her first top ten placing at World Championships.Hannah was vaulting on WH Bentley and lunged by father John Eccles.



Lucy Phillips finished 16th on her own

Pas De Deux Class:

Lukas Wacha  & Jasmin Lindner won the Pas-De-Deux
The Eccles sisters went on to finish 2nd and gain Silver in the Pas De Deux class,

this class was very close with all top 6 very tight and extremely high level vaulting,

the two favourites from USA finished in 3rd and 4th but it was an Austrian pair that took the

top honours.Hannah and Joanne Eccles Senior Pas-De-DeuxJoanne and Hannah Eccles produced a very smooth fluent routine and this adds to the Silver they won at europeans last year. Again they competed on their WH Bentley.


The English Vaulting Squad Represented Great Britain In the Squad Class

Squad Class:
The GBR squad finished 8th, after a difficult first freestyle performed in 35 degree heat,
they finished on a smooth clean routine in the 2nd round.
Squad members: Lydia Barham, Paige Brown, Sara Shortland, Staphanie Hunter, William Jenkins and Jessica Haynes.
They competed on Go For Gold, lunged by Julie Newell.Eccles retained her World Vaulting champion title in Le Mans, France this weekend.
